Our History

December 1951

Alfred Anthony Bollock Jr. joined the Air Force and was eventually stationed at Castle Air Force Base in central California.

Tony married Carol Ann Erickson.

The couple welcomed a daughter, Sandy.

Tony was discharged from the Air Force and worked with a plumber for a year.

Tony began work at Artcraft Industries in Turlock, California, learning the countertop trade.

Tony and Carol welcomed a second daughter, Sharon.

Tony left Artcraft and moved his family of four to his hometown of Lafayette, Indiana. He took work with several builders in the area, working out of his parents’ garage at 111 Lincoln Street.

To build the business, Tony offered local builders one free countertop, hoping to become their supplier if they were happy with the quality. Many were, and he began to do business with prominent names in the area, like Mr. Thise and the Pervine family (of Pervine Kitchens).

The Early 60s

Bollock Industries continued providing countless countertops for Pervine Kitchens and solidified a business relationship that lasted 50 years.

After securing a loan from his parents, Tony rented his first facility and officially opened the doors of Bollock Industries at 1810 Douglas Street in Lafayette.

Bollock Industries becomes certified with the Formica Corporation, allowing Tony to build custom cabinetry using their 1960s modern, ultra-popular materials.

Tony and Carol welcomed a son, Stuart.

1974

Tony hired his first full-time employee, his son-in-law, Steve Young. Steve worked at the company until his retirement in 2017.

Tony built a new location at 525 N. 13th Street. The cement block building totaled just under 5600 square feet.

Tony and Carol’s daughter, Sharon, joined the family business and continued working there until her retirement in 2018.

The current location was built at 900 Farabee Court.

Bollock Industries was featured in a prominent magazine, CabinetMaker, in an article entitled, “Expanding with what You Have.”

Tony and Carol’s son, Stuart, purchased the family business and continues leading it to this day.
